| 1/2 poundButter |
| 1 tbspdark corn syrup |
| 1 egg |
| 1 tspcinnamon |
| 1 tspginger |
| 1 tspground cloves |
| 1 1/2 cupsSugar |
| 2 tspbaking soda |
| 3 cupsFlour |
Pepparkakor Preparation
Mix in order given. Refrigerate dough, roll out thin (my grandmother used to hold up the rolled out dough up to the lightif she could see light through the cookies, it was thin enough for her; I've never gotten them quite so thin). Cut into shapes. Bake at 350° F for 7-10 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet. Watch carefully. When finished cookies will be a molasses shade of brown.
