hotflashgame ,I think there must be some mistake with this recipe, like twice too much ricotta. I made this (of course following precisely the directions) and it was a gloppy inedible mess. Even my teenaged boy wouldn't eat it, and we had to throw it out.12y
pols005 ,Very tasty. I used Morning Star Sausage Crumbles instead of real sausage. I also reduced the ricotta to about 25 oz, the eggs to 2, and the mozzarella to 12 oz. I also used about 1/4 cup of fresh parsley where called for (no measurements given in recipe). Lots of prep time but really very simple to prepare.13y
donaliz ,I made this for Christmas dinner as an alternative to the traditional turkey, ham or prime rib dinner. It disappeared really quickly, which is always an indication that it is really good. I am glad that I read the reviews and halved the ricotta cheese as it would have been way too much cheese for my taste buds (and I'm a cheese lover). I also think I'm going to double the meat sauce.13y
agette ,I prepared the base recipe for my teens and their friends. Very well received. I like many reviewers changed the recipe to suit my preferences. 20 oz. Of ricotta, 1/3 sausage and 2/3 beef. I also used precooked noodles which really cut down on the prep.13y
ggilman ,I thought this was a good lasagna recipe, but it wasn't the best in the world. I used one carton of Riccota cheese, and that was plenty. I also used 1.5 pounds of Italian sausage. Again, it was good, but not fabulous.13y
cowtown_slim ,I found this dish to be phenomenal. I couldn't stop eating it. However, that being said... before making the dish I read the reviews and decided to reduce the amount of ricotta cheese, using 30 ounces (2 cartons) vs the 60 ounces listed. Also, I increased the amount of meat from 1 pound to 1.75 pounds. I added 0.75 pounds of beef mixing that with the Italian sausage. I will definitely be making this one again.13y
kaleigh2013 ,I thought it was wonderful. Do not use all 60 oz of ricotta or you will regret it! I used about 20 oz.13y
ccurri30 ,It was delicious but don't use 60oz ricotta like I did. I would use half but otherwise great!13y
ksbebe ,Used 1 lb grd beef and 3/4 lb Italian sausage. 9 noodles used (3 for each layer). Reduced eggs to 2 and ricotta to 16 oz. Added Parmesan to ricotta mix and also sprinkled before last bit of mozzarella. It was delicious!13y
athena103181 ,I made this for my dad on fathers day and it blew the whole family (myself included) away. It was so yummy, and I never knew tomato sauce could taste that good lol. It was a lot of work but well worth the end results.13y
mrspacker ,I messed up on this one big time.. somewhere along the line... anyway.. too much prep time for me and if i do ever try it again.. i'll cut the ricotta by 2/3rds... and double the meast sauce..13y
jamiefaber ,Excellent recipe! I may be done searching for the best one! Agreed ricotta should be a 15 oz container. Love the sliced mozzarella cheese; this really adds something special.14y
03011983 ,I made this today and it came out great!!! It was so~~~~~ delicious!!! The recipe was for 8 servings so I used half the ingredients for 4 servings. I used 250g of ricotta cheese and used more mozzarella. It was great!! I recommend thoroughly!14y
asaliga ,Good, but next time I'll put in about half as much ricotta cheese and more meat. Too much ricotta in my opinion.14y
hrdwk7475 ,I Also questioned the amount of Ricotta cheese, and I cut the amount to one carton although I also added a large carton of dry cottage cheese. It was very good, and I will be making it again.14y
emmy1807 ,I used much less cheese than the recipe called for. I only used about 12 or 14 oz. of sliced mozarella and only a 30 oz. ricotta. But it turned out delicious!14y
chrissy8279 ,Was way too much cheese for this family!! Will stick to the old fashon lasanga next time.14y
brentnhunter ,Actually it's NOT a mistake. The extra cheese is but one reason this is truly the best lasagna in the world!14y
