Cheesy meatballs with spaghetti

"I used Italian seasonings instead of basil and doubled the recipe by adding Italian sausage along with the ground beef. These were absolutely delicious! I usually don't like meatballs because they are dry. Not these! Very moist! " - tracyboyle

1 Ingredients (serves 4)
500 gramslean beef mince
1 egg; lightly beaten
1 cupgrated cheese , tasty
1 onion; finely chopped
1/4 cupbasil; chopped
1 tbsolive oil
570 gram jartomato; onion & basil chunky sauce
400 gramsdried spaghetti
1 Basil leaves; to serve

Cheesy meatballs with spaghetti Preparation

Method

1. Combine mince, egg, cheese, onion and basil. Season and roll into balls.

2. Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan. Cook half the meatballs for 4-5 minutes. Remove and repeat.

3. Return the meatballs to the pan and pour over sauce. Cover, cook over a medium heat for 20 minutes until cooked through.

4. Cook spaghetti in a large pan of boiling water, as per packet directions. Drain and place in bowl. Spoon over meatballs and sauce. Serve with basil leaves.

    Excellent recipe. I excluded the basil in step one bc the tomato sauce already had a good basil flavor. I did add a hint of garlic tho to the mix and came out great! Definitely making this again!

    Easy to make, unbelievably tasty, make sure the size of meatballs is small or you're in danger of making burgers! Served with cheese and basil for decor it looks like a top notch dish! Will deff make it again!

    This was excellent. I used parmesan cheese and it was a great alternative to bread crumbs. I baked the meatballs though and they still came out great. I will definitely make this again!
