Cheesy meatballs with spaghetti
"I used Italian seasonings instead of basil and doubled the recipe by adding Italian sausage along with the ground beef. These were absolutely delicious! I usually don't like meatballs because they are dry. Not these! Very moist! "- tracyboyle

1. Combine mince, egg, cheese, onion and basil. Season and roll into balls.
2. Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan. Cook half the meatballs for 4-5 minutes. Remove and repeat.
3. Return the meatballs to the pan and pour over sauce. Cover, cook over a medium heat for 20 minutes until cooked through.
4. Cook spaghetti in a large pan of boiling water, as per packet directions. Drain and place in bowl. Spoon over meatballs and sauce. Serve with basil leaves.
DrieStone 2 months agoThey came out ok the first time, but I made the meatballs about 2' in diameter. After cooking the meatballs (for maybe 10 minutes) in the frying pan I cut one open to take a look and the center was still uncooked. I ended up putting them in the oven for 10-15 minutes after that. I don't think cooking in the sauce would have been enough to cook my meatballs. I also think that they need more cheese. Maybe twice as much.
