Again, an old family favorite- This delicious Green Bean Casserole recipe has rewarded me with numerous compliments over the years.

"I just copied this complete recipe and can only say how delicious it turned out. I think this is an excellent recipe, perfected, definately worth a try if you havent expanded your horizon on greenbean cassrole. The cream of chicken and velveta were the staples to this recipe to make it unique."

Ingredients

Original recipe makes 8
1.5 canscream of chicken; (or mushroom/celery if you prefer)
1 containerFrench Fried Onions
3 cansGreen Beans
1 barVelveta Cheese

Southern-Style Greenbean Casserole Preparation

Pre-Heat oven to 375'F

In large bowl, combine 1 1/2 cans Cream of Chicken, 3 cans Green Beans, 1/2 container of French Fried Onions, and as many thin slices of velveta as you want. Mix well

Pam the bottom of a large baking dish and pour in mixture

Pour the remaining French Fried Onions ontop of mixture, evenly

Thinly slice enough Velveta squares to cover the enitre dish

Bake about 15-20 mins, or until Velveta is melted and French Fried Onions turn golden brown

Let cool a bit, but serve warm

Vegetarians may use Cream of mushroom or celerey instead of chicken. I also believe the cheesier, the better. Also, rather then using the same 3 cans of greenbeans, i prefer to mix it up a bit. I usually buy 2 cans of french cut (style) and 1 can of regular. [I posted this recipe.]
