Sangria

Recipes »  Drinks  »  Sangria

Like most of my recipes, this is a combination of several others because I couldn't find one that was exactly what I wanted.

"LOVE this recipe!

First time I made it, I left out most of the sugar -- it definitely is better with the sugar.

Next time, I forgot to add the soda. Once I remembered and added it, I liked it MUCH better.

Making it last night, we only had 1/4 c of rum. We substituted 1/4 c of a bottled LI Ice tea mix, with rum, vodka, gin, tequila and triple sec. Served the sangria garnished with a few fresh raspberries floating (just uploaded a picture, too). Fantastic! As tripletmama wrote - you'll be the star of any party where you serve this! I doubled the recipe and added 1 bag each of frozen strawberries & frozen raspberries & the results were FANTASTIC!! It was the star of our 4th of July party! It was an easy, make-ahead drink that was a big crowd pleaser! Thanks for the great recipe!

I've been looking for a great sangria recipe for years and just haven't found one that I loved! My husband and I get the sangria at a local mexican resturaunt and I just can't seem to find one that is similar in flavor. This one seems to be exactly what I was looking for... fingers crossed! I will add some berries to the fruit I think because the one we get at the restaruant has berries too. Thanks for the great recipe!

A pretty decent sangria. I used 1/3 cup sugar instead of 1/2 and still found it a bit sweet for my taste... May depend on the wine or choice / quantity of fruit. Try a spanish merlot or cab for a more authentic taste.

Very good! I accidently bought grapefruit instead of oranges and it still turned out great. Very refreshing.

Delicious! Made it for my book club and they loved it. I didn't use the entire can of lemon-lime soda (about 3/4 - and I used Sprite). Will make again and again - yummy!

Fabulous! I used a Spanish red wine. Absolutely perfect for my house warming party. Used 1 cup of the rum to cover all the fruit in my pitcher and used Fresca for the lemon-lime soda.
