Heat oil over medium heat. Add onions, garlic and jalapeno. Toss until they begin to sweat. Add ground turkey, salt , cayenne and cinnamon and allow meat to brown. Add chili seasoning and stir well. Add tomato sauce, kidney beans and water and stir well. Adjust seasonings to taste. Cover, reduce heat to low and allow mixture to simmer for 45 minutes. Add tomato, red pepper, corn and honey. Simmer on low for 15 minutes. Turn off heat and let chili sit at least 15 minutes. Serve warm with handful of tortilla chips crushed on top, or with your favourite side! Enjoy!

Adharr 4 years agoThe honey and cinnamon are a must!!! The honey cuts the acidity of the tomatoes/sauce, and the cinnamon adds a delicious, warm and smoky flavour to this dish. It also helps to temper the heat of the cayenne and jalapeno. Add as many vegetables as you like, this dish is fool-proof! This dish tastes better the longer you let it sit. [I posted this recipe.]
