Super Hearty Turkey Chili

Below are stove top directions, although chili can also be made in a slow cooker. Simply brown meat, add all ingredients and simmer all day!

Ingredients
| 1 lblean ground turkey |
| 1 mediumwhite onion; diced |
| 2 clovesgarlic; chopped fine |
| 1 canred kidney beans; (drained but not rinsed) |
| 1 canwhole kernel corn; (drained) |
| 1/2 jalapeno pepper (seeds included); chopped fine |
| 1 roma tomato; diced |
| 1/2 largesweet red pepper; diced |
| 1 cantomato and basil tomato sauce; + equal part water |
| 1 tspground cinnamon |
| 1 tbsphoney |
| chili seasoning |
| 1/2 tspcayenne pepper; (optional) |
| 1 tbspolive or canola oil; or 2 sprays of cooking spray |
| 1/4 tspSalt |
| Black pepper; to taste |
| handfulmultigrain tortilla chips; (optional) |
Super Hearty Turkey Chili Preparation
Heat oil over medium heat. Add onions, garlic and jalapeno. Toss until they begin to sweat. Add ground turkey, salt , cayenne and cinnamon and allow meat to brown. Add chili seasoning and stir well. Add tomato sauce, kidney beans and water and stir well. Adjust seasonings to taste. Cover, reduce heat to low and allow mixture to simmer for 45 minutes. Add tomato, red pepper, corn and honey. Simmer on low for 15 minutes. Turn off heat and let chili sit at least 15 minutes. Serve warm with handful of tortilla chips crushed on top, or with your favourite side! Enjoy!
