This is a great pasta dish. Although it takes a bit of time, the preparation is quite easy, and the result is well worth it.
1. In a heavy saucepan, gently cook onions, olive oil and butter. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent onions from burning.
2. When onions are very lightly browned, add tomatoes, salt and pepper. Cook, covered, for 20-30 minutes over medium-low heat.
3. Remove from heat, add cream, and adjust seasoning.
4. Toss pasta with sauce and grated Swiss cheese.
