Grandma's Pound Cake
Original recipe makes 12
| 3 cupsFlour |
| 1/2 tspbaking soda |
| 1/2 tspbaking powder |
| 3/4 tspSalt |
| 1 cupshortening |
| 2 cupsSugar |
| 4 Eggs |
| 1 tspvanilla |
| lemon extract |
| 1 cupbuttermilk; (or 1 cup milk w/ 1 tblsp vinegar) |
Grandma's Pound Cake Preparation
Preheat oven to 350.
Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Add shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla and lemon extract.
Mix.
Add buttermilk.
Mix well.
Grease and flour bundt or tube pan.
Add batter to pan.
Bake for 1 hour, 10 minutes.
