Stir the soup, onion soup mix, potatoes and carrots in a 4 1/2-quart slow cooker. Add the beef and turn to coat.
Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours* or until the beef is fork-tender.
*Or on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours.
Serving Suggestion: Serve with buttermilk biscuits and steamed broccoli spears. For dessert serve turtle or blonde brownies.

kimo219 2 months agoFirst of all, this was my first pot roast ever so I was extremely nervous. I made it for my hubby's birthday. I changed a few things. I chose the rump roast with bone. I added 3 cans of cream of mushroom instead of one. I wanted to make sure it was flavorful and moist. I added the veggies in the last 2 hours of cooking. Lots of mushrooms, more red potatoes than recipe called for, one diced yellow onion, and a whole bag of baby carrots. The meat was so tender it was falling off the bone. I have to say it was the best pot roast I have ever had and my hubby who's a cook and tough critic strongly agreed! We are having leftovers today :-)
littlemeangela 4 months agoThis was my 1st recipe for pot roast that I made in the slow cooker. It came out great. I will be making this one again soon! Next we are going to make sandwiches since the gravy turns out amazing.

Yodalee 1 year agoAccording to my husband, 'this is a keeper!'. Used a Boneless Chuck Roast..turned out extremely tender. Added veggies during last 2 hours of cooking time. Delicious! Thanks!
Standinginthechair7 1 year agoThis was very delicious.I will make it again. I did change it a bit. I put the potatoes and carrots the last 1-1/2 hrs. of cooking. I thought putting them in at the beginning they would be to mushy.

1Baker2Baker 1 year agoI don't know if I did something wrong but it turned out very dry and tuff. I did it on high 4 hours, in a little smaller crock pot. It was completely thawed. It was covered in liquid, so not sure why it was so dry.

lynjoyc 3 years agothis is such an easy recipe! Perfect for the beach...throw the simple ingredients in....& enjoy the day!!! Everyone loves it! The recipe easily doubles too.
sgrishka 3 years agoA good basic crockpot pot roast recipe using condensed soup. As for changes, we didn't have red potatoes so we used quartered white potatoes. We also added about a cup of beef stock.
