"Great easy meal. My family always loves pot roast and this one is very flavorful. I didn't have the onion soup mix. But I added a bit of liquid smoke, about 1/4 cup of Italian Dressing, an onion, and about 4 or 5 stalks of celery."- TiffanyCrabtree

kimo219 5 months agoFirst of all, this was my first pot roast ever so I was extremely nervous. I made it for my hubby's birthday. I changed a few things. I chose the rump roast with bone. I added 3 cans of cream of mushroom instead of one. I wanted to make sure it was flavorful and moist. I added the veggies in the last 2 hours of cooking. Lots of mushrooms, more red potatoes than recipe called for, one diced yellow onion, and a whole bag of baby carrots. The meat was so tender it was falling off the bone. I have to say it was the best pot roast I have ever had and my hubby who's a cook and tough critic strongly agreed! We are having leftovers today :-)

Standinginthechair7 1 year agoThis was very delicious.I will make it again. I did change it a bit. I put the potatoes and carrots the last 1-1/2 hrs. of cooking. I thought putting them in at the beginning they would be to mushy.

bonedi39 1 year agoA real hit with my husband and he said to put this at the top of the list. I thought a little dry. Will add more liquid next time.
1Baker2Baker 2 years agoI don't know if I did something wrong but it turned out very dry and tuff. I did it on high 4 hours, in a little smaller crock pot. It was completely thawed. It was covered in liquid, so not sure why it was so dry.
Electrode 2 years agoVery excellent ... everyone loved it. Shredded leftovers , mixed with BBQ sause & froze for later sandwich night.
