Mia's tasty spaghetti & turkey meatballs
Original recipe makes 4
| 1 pkgwheat noodles |
| SAUCE: |
| 1 cupOnion; chopped |
| 6 clovesgarlic; chopped |
| 1 Carrot; shredded |
| 1/2 cupred wine |
| 2 tbsptomato paste |
| 2 tspItalian seasoning |
| 1 sprigrosemary; 1 sprig thyme, 1 sprig parsley (all chopped) (or fresh herbs on |
| 2 cansless sodium chopped tomatoes |
| TURKEY BALLS: |
| 1 lbextra lean ground turkey |
| 1/4 cupground flaxseed |
| 1/4 cupoats |
| 1 tspitalian seasoning |
| 1 tspseasoning salt |
| 1/2 tspground red pepper |
| 1/2 tspred pepper flakes |
| 1/2 tspblack pepper |
| 1/2 tspgarlic salt |
| 1/3 cuponion; chopped |
Mia's tasty spaghetti & turkey meatballs Preparation
cook pasta according to package directions
(omit salt and oil)
SAUCE
Heat oil in saucepan
add onion & garlic, saute' 5 min
add carrot & red wine, bring to boil
add tomato paste through chopped tomatoes, bring to boil, then reduce heat to simmer
Meatballs
mix all ingredients together and form into 12 balls, bake at 400 F for 25 minutes (until done in center)
Mix sauce with noodles, top with 3 Turkeyballs, sprinkle with a small amount of part-skim shredded mozzarella or Parmesan cheese
