Savory French Toast Casserole Good for Test Day at School

Prepare this hearty meal the night before, bake it warm and cheesy and get the kids off to school well fed and ready to tackle any test.

| 8 slicesWhole Wheat Bread |
| 2 ozCream Cheese |
| 1 cCooked Ham or Turkey or Chicken; Cubed, Julienned or Diced |
| 1 cShredded Cheese; (your favorite flavor) |
| 1/2 cmayonnaise; or sour cream or your favorite salad dressing |
| 1 tspyellow mustard; (skip if salad dressing used) |
| 6 Eggs; (up to 8) |
| 1 cMilk; (add more if bread dried out) |
| 1 11x14 casserole |
Savory French Toast Casserole Good for Test Day at School Preparation
1.) Based on size of your loaf of bread, determine how many slices fit in the casserole dish side by side
2.) Butter Casserole Dish
3.) Thinly spread cream cheese on half the slices of bread (toasting it will make this easier, but isn't vital)
4.) Line casserole dish with these bread slices (cream cheese up), cutting to fill in if necessary
5.) Mix together meat, cheese, dressing
6.) Spread mixture on top of bread in casserole
7.) Layer remaining bread slices on top to cover
8.) Beat eggs and milk together and pour over bread
9.) Cover and refrigerate over night.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Remove cover and bake for 30-40 minutes until set.
Let cool for 5-10 minutes, serve each sandwich with a side of fresh fruit if available or a colorful bowl of thawed frozen strawberries.
