Original recipe makes 6
2 1/2 cupsButter
2 1/2 cupSugar
4 Eggs
3 1/2 cupsplain flour
1/2 soda
1/2 tspsalt
1 cupbuttermilk
2 tblslemon juice or flavoring

Lemon Buttermilk Pound Cake Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening and add eggs one at a time. Add flour, soda and salt with the buttermilk. Add lemon. Bake in tube pan at 350 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
