Oriental Baby Back Ribs and Rice
|1 cupuncooked white rice|
|2 lbspork baby back or regular ribs; cut lengthwise between each bone|
|1/4 cuphoisin sauce|
|2 large clovesgarlic; minced|
|1 tablespoonhot sauce|
|1 teaspoonsoy sauce|
|1/4 cuprib broth water|
|1 teaspoonsesame seed oil for rice|
|3 dashesbottled sesame seeds; for garnish (optional)|
Oriental Baby Back Ribs and Rice Preparation
Prepare rice according to package directions.
Place ribs in 4 cups of boiling water. Boil, then lower heat to med high, cook covered for 50 minutes or until tender. Reserve 1/4 cup rib broth.
In a nonstick skillet add hoisin sauce, garlic, sugar, hot sauce, soy sauce, and rib broth water. Stir constantly for 6 minutes over medium heat.
Add ribs to sauce mixture and stir the sauce to completely cover the ribs. Stir 5 minutes. Turn off heat.
Pour rice onto platter, add sesame seed oil and mix. Place ribs in center of rice. Garnish with almond slices or bottled sesame seeds (optional).
