Garides Tourkolimano (Greek Shrimp)

Recipes »  Main Dish  »  Fish and Shellfish

Garides tourkolimano are prawns cooked in a tomato, garlic, herb and wine sauce that is finished off with feta cheese. I could not let any of that sauce go to waste so I served the garides tourkolimano with some crusty bread to soak up all of the extra. Of course, I enjoyed the garides tourkolimano with a glass of the Greek white wine that I used in the sauce.

"The picture for this recipe made my mouth water and I had to make it. It was delish but my only complaint would be that there wasn't that much liquid to dip bread in. However it was just as good to scoop up the tomato and the little bit of sauce that was there with some crusty bread. I think personal perference wise people might want to play with the herbs but it is also good as is. Very easy recipe to follow." - punkie569

Just a little adjustments to the recipe, I added 1 Lb of crushed tomatoes, 1 tbs tomato paste, less mint, I got a nice sauce. Great we enjoyed! Thanks a lot for sharing!

Made it tonight exactly as written but added a tad more wine. There was no trouble with lack of sauce. We loved it and will make again.

There are those who eat to live and those who live to eat, I'm the later. This dish is to die for!!! Recommend using diced tomatoes in a can and 50% more wine than called for to give you extra juices for dipping your bread into.

It was really good. I'd definitely make it again, the only thing I would alter the mint. I'd use less mint. It only took 25 minutes because we tried to follow the recipe exactly.

We took out several ingredients (onions, parsely) and it still came out very good. This is definitely one of my favorites.
