Easy, old-fashioned Southern cobbler recipe. Don't wash fresh berries until you're ready to use as they are most delicate. This recipe uses either fresh or frozen berries.
"Great starting point for my first cobbler! I made it my own by adding 1/2 cup more berries, only using 2/3 cups of sugar, adding 2 tbsp of brown sugar and a little fresh lemon juice. I used less butter for the dough, 3 tbsp. I also made a crunching topping with oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmug, butter. "- bridgetfm

In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt and milk. Stir in melted butter until blended. Spread in ungreased 8-inch square pan. Spoon blackberry mixture over batter.
Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until dough rises and is golden.

Nemo57 6 months agoLove this recipe; it brought back sweet memories of my grandmother and living in the country as we had a BlackBerry bush. She would make a BlackBerry cobbler very similar to this one.
