Remember the Seinfeld episode about the soup nazi, well, here is one of the recipes inspired by the Soup Kitchen International in Manhattan, this restaurant was the inspiration of the episodes about the Soup Nazi. You can make it with canned yams or fresh yams, the time difference is 45 mins.

| 1 large canYams; or 2 large cans, (up to 4 lbs) |
| 4 largeOR Sweet Potatoes |
| 8 cupsWater |
| 0.3333 cupButter |
| 0.5 cupTomato sauce |
| 2 tablespoonsHalf and half |
| 2 teaspoonsSalt |
| 0.125 teaspoonPepper |
| 1 dashthyme |
| 1 cupcashews; (split in half) |
The Soup Nazi's Cream Of Sweet Potato Preparation
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. If using the Sweet potatoes, bake the sweet potatoes for 45 minutes or until they are soft.
Cool the potatoes until they can be handled.
Peel away the skin, then put the potatoes into a large bowl.
If using the canned, Open can, drain and place in large bowl
Mash the potatoes for 15-20 seconds, but you don''t need to mash them until they are entirely smooth.
Spoon the mashed sweet potato into a large saucepan over medium/high heat, add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
When the soup begins to boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 50-60 minutes. Cashews should be soft.
Makes 6-8 servings.
