Reviews for Thanksgiving Turkey

Recipes »  Main Dish  »  Poultry - Turkey

Brined, herb-roasted Thanksgiving turkey for the holiday. I was never thrilled about turkey at Thanksgiving. One year, I was in charge of the bird and bound and determined I would make it really well. After trying this recipe I feel in love with Thanksgiving turkey and will never do it any other way. It was so moist, everyone loved it. I wish I had some now!

Nov 2011-Turkey was a huge hit! So juicy and melted in your mouth. Directions were a tad confusing, but easy enough to work around. We will definitely be making this next year. Nov 2012--Looking forward to making this turkey this year. Kids have been talking about it now for a month! Still the best turkey I've ever had!

One word: Excellent, but two suggestions (to add to your recipe) 1). Serving instruction - the veggies stuffed in the bird are awesome - problem was we didn't take these out until after eating 2) next day options - made an incredible soup, but would love to hear other options

I never really cared for eating turkey because the white meat always seemed dry. So I never roast a turkey in my entire life for the fear of how it would turn out. Well I never have to fear again. I took a chance and prepared this turkey recipe for a large celebration of about one hundred people and the turkey turned out AWESOME! I was the rave of the party. I soaked them for 8 hours and thought I might have over cooked them but it did not seem to matter. Everyone was amazed of how tender and tasty the meat tasted. I saw people wrapping and taking home the scraps of turkey that was left. I'm so proud of myself. No one knew who baked those turkeys ( I made two large turkeys) and I listened to the reactions as I watched everyone ate. I can't wait to make my turkeys for the holiday... I now know it's going to be a hit.

I made my first turkey for Thanksgiving last year using the brine from this recipe. The turkey was a success! Everyone loved it; we literally at ALL the turkey. There was only thanksgiving sides for people to take home as leftovers. No turkey sandwiches to make for the days to come.

This was my very first turkey. It was great, could have been slightly more juicy. It had a savory seasoned flavor.
