3 cupsAll purpose flour
4 teaspoonsSugar
1 teaspoonSalt
5 teaspoonsBaking Powder
1/4 teaspoonCream of tartar
2/3 cupShortening; (butter-flavored)

Quick Baking Mix Preparation

PREP/TOTAL TIME: 10 min

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder,, sugar, salt and cream of tartar; cut in shortening (or butter substitute) until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. If using the butter substitute, use 2/3 cup butter and reduce the salt by a 1/2 teaspoon.

Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place or in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Notes

This Baking Mix can be stored safely for up to 6 months in an air tight container. Contents of mix may settle during storage. When you're ready to prepare a recipe, just simply spoon mix into a measuring cup. [I don't like using SHORTENING so I substitute it with butter and cut the salt by a 1/2 teaspoon].
