10 slicesWhole Wheat Bread
3 largeEggs
1 cupmilk
1 tspSugar
1 tspVanilla extract
1/4 tspSalt
1/8 tspCinnamon
1 pinchGround nutmeg

Classic French Toast Preparation

1. Preheat the large griddle to medium high heat (about 350).

2. In a medium bowl, beat the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Add the cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour into a shallow dish so you can dip the bread in it.

3. Spray the heated griddle with non-stick spray oil. Dip one slice of bread into the egg mixture, coat both sides. Place the bread on the skillet. Fry on both sides until lightly browned.

4. Serve with butter, syrup, fruit sauce, etc.

    I used 8 slices of bread and it was just enough egg mixture. I used maple syrup instead of the sugar. Very tasty and easy.

    I really like thick, soft French toast so I used Texas toast instead of the whole wheat bread. Turned out fantastic.
