Best French Toast
"This is my go-to French toast recipe. Its really good. I do make a variation however and have added the recipe on this site. I did not have enough milk one morning, and used Hazelnut coffee creamer instead. it was TO DIE FOR."- lisamarr-turner

1. Preheat the large griddle to medium high heat (about 350).
2. In a medium bowl, beat the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Add the cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour into a shallow dish so you can dip the bread in it.
3. Spray the heated griddle with non-stick spray oil. Dip one slice of bread into the egg mixture, coat both sides. Place the bread on the skillet. Fry on both sides until lightly browned.
4. Serve with butter, syrup, fruit sauce, etc.

herbgrower 9 months agoI used 8 slices of bread and it was just enough egg mixture. I used maple syrup instead of the sugar. Very tasty and easy.

artlyn18 1 year agoI really like thick, soft French toast so I used Texas toast instead of the whole wheat bread. Turned out fantastic.

Pinto 4 years agoI like french toast & this really is a classic french toast recipe. I didn't use as much bread though (I like my french toast soft). I'll try this again the next time I get a french toast craving. :)
