"I made this last night after finding the recipe. When I got all the ingredients together, I added a little bit more milk because the batter was a bit thick. I also added a bit of vanilla extract and a bit more sugar to give it a bit of a sweeter taste. My husband helped me make it, which made it fun to make and was really easy. I do definitely plan on making these again"

Ingredients

3 large Eggs
1/4 cup Sugar
2 cups milk
3 2/3 cups Flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoon Baking Powder
Vegetable oil

Preparation

Beat eggs and sugar together and then add the milk slowly--beat. Add the dry ingredients and beat until smooth and creamy.

Pour batter into a funnel and at the same time, use your finger to plug the hole. In a large cast iron pot, add 2 inches of oil to the bottom.

When the oil becomes hot, move your hand over the pot and slowly release your finger so the batter can start cooking.

Move the funnel around to make designs.

Brown on both sides--then immediately remove and drain extremely well.

Top with cinnamon sugar, or powdered sugar as a topping.

Batter was a bit thick so I cut it to 2 cups. I used to work for the carnival making these so it came out near perfect. Added bananas and caramel and it was like being back in the circuit!

Loved this. I modified it with Splenda and a small amount of sugar so my husband could eat it for a RARE treat (since he always has to skip the sugary ones at the fairs) and it turned out beautifully! We added sugar free chocolate and caramel sauces and slices of banana...so good!

With a few adjustments this recipe is absolutely perfect! I kept everything the same except for the sugar and flower, I added 1/2 C of sugar and 2 1/4 C of flower as well as 1/2 tsp of Vanilla extract(imitation) My funnel cake turned out sweet and chewy(but not undercooked)
