Chewy coconut macaroons that are easy!
"Keeper! This is the recipe I'll use from now on. Did take some trial and error to determine temp and time to cook them in my oven. In order to avoid being too brown on bottom I needed to reduce oven temp to 325. Also cooking time to 16-17 min, I also must use a silipat mat on my baking sheets. "- Jldozer

Top-ranked recipe named "Bj's Coconut Macaroons"
Measure and mix coconut and flour in a large mixing bowl. Add in salt, then condensed milk and egg white. Mix throughly. Drop 1/8 cup scoopfuls on to a cookie sheet. (I use my Pampered Chef scooper - works great!) Bake for 18-20 minutes at 350 degrees until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet immediately and allow to cool on a wire rack.
I modified another recipe on BigOven to make these, in order to utilize a full 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk and increase the number of macaroons yielded.

Geminimay31st 2 months agoDelicious! Very simple to make and were very tasty. I think I made them too big and should have done smaller heaps but they turned out great anyway! I also melted some milk chocolate and dipped them in chocolate. Mmm mmm good!

Caro66 2 months agoThe only size cans I can fine are 300 ml. The equivalent is app. 7 oz. so I used 2 cans. The cookies flatten out to much and the edges brown too much. What am I doing wrong?? They taste good, but I could not put them on a holiday plate.

samanthacrowshaw 1 year agoThis recipe is absolutely spot on! I didn't want bite size so I made 12 large and drizzled some with dark chocolate. I also took them out after about 16 mins as they retain more moisture and are nice and chewy! Love them!
