Original recipe makes 8
1 lb96% lean ground turkey
3 cupscooked pinto beans; (preferably not canned)
2 cupscooked black beans; (preferably not canned)
2 cupslow sodium chicken broth
2 cupsWater
1 tspcumin
2 tsppaprika
1 tspcorse ground black pepper
1 tspred pepper flakes
1 tbspchili powder
1 tbspgarlic powder
.5 cupground flax seed; (optional)

Jy's Turkey Chili Preparation

Brown ground turkey in saute pan and drain any excess fat. Combine with all other ingredients in large stock pan or crock pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20 - 30 minutes or until desired thickness is achieved.

The flax seed is added as both a heart healthy fat and thickener. Flavor is not affected by the omission of this item. Also spice quantities can be varied to taste! [I posted this recipe.]
