This kid-popular dish is sweet and savory, and most importantly, extremely easy to make. Serve with crunchy coleslaw on the side.

"I read reviews 1st..seared meat 1st- good idea since it gives you some "bark" or "burnt ends"..made my favorite BBQ sauce and added liquid smoke. It was tender and delicious. I made carmelized onions and served on a variety of rolls with coleslaw. Thanks for posting..will be a go to winter dinner!" - CYAG

I made this but added chipotle peppers to the overnight cook. Added a bit of smoke and heat to the flavor of the pork.

We made these last night. They were a hit! The only thing I did different was that I hadded about 3/4c. water when first putting in the roast.

This was the first time I made pulled pork sandwiches at home. I can assure you that it will not be the last. It was a great meal. I also did not have an entire 2.5 lb pork roast. It makes a lot and is great for people who have a big family. Definitely kid friendly as well!

Very simple and hard to mess up.

This was really good. I like to make mine in the oven instead of a slow cooker and our family eats this with cole slaw on the sandwich. I find it really adds to it. But it is still very good on its own.

This was really good. Since it's made in a crockpot, we knew we were going to lose the smoky, caramelized flavors that we love so much in Southern barbecue. So, we made a couple adjustments to try and get some of that back. We used a 4 lb. Boston butt trimmed of all visible fat. Massaged a favorite spice rub into the meat and wrapped it tightly in a double layer of plastic wrap and refrigerated it for about 3 hours. Then, after unwrapping the roast, placed it in the slow cooker liner along with 1/4 cup water and a 1/2 tsp. liquid smoke and cooked it as directed, until the meat was fork-tender. Instead of a bottled barbecue sauce, we used a favorite homemade sauce. The pulled pork turned out moist and flavorful. Just be sure to use a good quality barbecue sauce since the flavor of this dish depends mostly upon your choice of sauce! Next time I would also sear the roast on all sides until golden brown before placing in the crockpot.
