Better-Than-Your-Jewish-Mother's Kugel Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 F and grease a one-quart casserole.
Cook egg noodles according to directions on the package. Drain, rinse and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, sour cream, milk, cinnamon, salt and vanilla. Stir in apples and raisins. Fold in cooked noodles. Pour mixture into the prepared casserole and top with walnuts. Place casserole into a 13" x 9" baking dish; pour hot water into dish to about a 1" depth. Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes. Let stand and cool for about 15 minutes before serving. Prepare whipped cream topping while pudding cools.
Cinnamon Whipped Cream
In a small bowl, beat heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold in one tablespoon sugar and a half-teaspoon cinnamon. Serve over warm kugel.
