Original recipe makes 12
1 cupbutter; 2 sticks; melted
1 1/2 cupsdark brown sugar; packed
1 cupgranulated sugar
2 tablespoonsmaple syrup or honey
1 egg; plus 1 egg yolk, room temperature
2 tablespoonsmilk
2 teaspoonsvanilla extract
2 cupsall purpose flour; sifted
1 cupquick oats; blended into powder
0.5 teaspoonbaking soda
0.75 teaspoonSalt
2 cupssemisweet chocolate chips; 12 oz
1 cupwalnuts; chopped

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies with Nuts Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix together butter, sugars and maple syrup with a large mixing spoon. Add eggs, milk and vanilla until incorperated. Whisk together flour, oat flour, baking soda and salt and then add to butter mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts until dough is well mixed. Use melon ball scoop to drop dough onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes and transfer to wire rack.

To avoid cakey cookies, remember to melt butter and do not use electric mixer to whip/mix ingredients. Bake until brown on edges and they look slightly undercooked towards the center. [I posted this recipe.]
