The best beef stew and very quick to put together.
"I made this recipe last week! It was delicious. I added a little more beef stock than listed. I prepped everything the night before, put it the crock pot on in the morning and came home to a delicious dinner!!"- lbeth211

In 5 or 6 L slow-cooker, mix together beef, potatoes, carrots, celery, peas, mushrooms, onions, garlic, beef stock, tomato paste, salt and pepper, bay leaf, thyme and Worcestershire sauce. Cover and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours (or on High for 5 to 6 hours) or until beef and vegetables are tender.
Increase heat to High. Whisk flour with 2 tbsp water; stir into stew. Cook, covered, for 5 minutes or until thickened. Discard bay leaf.

KirkT 2 months agoThe basic recipe is darned good. I now enhance it with more stock, double tomato paste, some butter, and other stew-herbs. But this all works. It's a regular.

courtnaytyus 1 year agoVery good and very easy. We also added some extra seasoning - extra freshly cracked pepper and some season salt. Will try leftovers over rice.
AlbertsKitchen 1 year agoI also found this a bit bland, I added onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, celery salt, oregano, sea salt and additional fresh ground pepper. That will wake up this recipe!
