Original recipe makes 6
2 cupsAll purpose flour
1/2 teaspoonbaking soda
1 teaspoonbaking powder
1 teaspoonkosher salt
2 tablespoonsSugar
4 tablespoonsButter; melted
2 Eggs; separated
2 cupsbuttermilk

Best Buttermilk Pancakes EVER Preparation

Pre-heat griddle to 350.

Combine all dry. Set aside.

Mix yolks with the butter.

Mix whites with the buttermilk.

Combine all wet.

Mix wet into dry... Mix about 10 seconds only (make sure to scrape the sides and bottom of bowl). There will be lumps and it will not be smooth. It really is ok. Walk away!

Take a stick of butter and wipe griddle with it. Take a paper towel and wipe off sitting butter.

Scoop batter with a large ladle. Try not to disturb the lumps.. carefully spoon onto griddle.. Will be very thick and lumpy. It's ok.. (You can add on blueberries or chocolate chips at this time). Flip when golden on bottom and it's done when both sides are golden.

Best pancakes ever! I use whole wheat flour for the most part and its still really good, a bit heavier pancake but taste awesome. I also use powdered buttermilk since I can't justify buying fresh when I use it so rarely.

These really are excellent! Easy to make. Don't second guess the thick, lumpy batter...it's supposed to be that way.

They were AWESOME!!! My kids and husband loved them. They were fluffy and had a touch of sweetness to them. I used homemade sour milk instead of buttermilk and it worked just the same.

We used 1 1/2 cups buttermilk (that's all we had) with 1/2 cup whole milk, 1/2 tablespoon more sugar and added blueberries. This recipe was amazing, better than pancake restaurants. We loved it!!!
