Ingredients
| 1 tablespoonolive oil |
| 1 poundground turkey breast |
| 3 green bell peppers; seeded and diced |
| 4 Onions; chopped |
| 6 clovesGarlic; minced |
| 1 tablespoonground cumin |
| 2 teaspoonsdried oregano |
| 1/2 teaspooncayenne pepper |
| 3 bay leaves |
| 1 28-oz cancrushed tomatoes |
| 2 15-oz canblack beans; rinsed and drained |
| 1 15-oz canfat-free refried beans |
| 1 4-oz candiced green chiles; rinsed and drained |
| 2 jalapenos; sliced (remove the seeds to reduce heat level) |
Spicy Turkey-Bean Chili Preparation
In a large sauce;pan or Dutch oven, heat the oil. Add the turey, bell peppers, onions, garlic, cumin, oregano, cayenne and bay leaves; cook, stirring as needed until the turkey is browned and the vegetables are softened, 6-8 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, beans, chiles and jalapenos, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, stirring as needed, until the flavors are well blended, about 45 minutes. Discard bay leaves.
