This spicy turkey bean chili recipe is low on fat, and high on flavor. Combine it with tortilla chips or a salad to make an excellent meal.

In a large sauce;pan or Dutch oven, heat the oil. Add the turey, bell peppers, onions, garlic, cumin, oregano, cayenne and bay leaves; cook, stirring as needed until the turkey is browned and the vegetables are softened, 6-8 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, beans, chiles and jalapenos, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, stirring as needed, until the flavors are well blended, about 45 minutes. Discard bay leaves.

RowdyCowchick 3 years agoThis was out-of-this-world! I followed the instructions as written, but added the meat and veggie mixture to the tomato mixture in the crock pot! Only substitution we made was kidney beans instead of refried beans. It was a big hit with everyone!
