This great recipe can be used for savory or sweet dishes! Taco fixings work just as well as honey butter or frosting for a quick scone recipe.
In a large bowl stir flour, dry milk, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening or lard until mixture is like cornmeal. Add water, stirring with a fork until it clings together. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth (about 5 minutes). Divide into 6 balls. Press each ball out. Fry in 1 inch of hot oil browning both sides until crispy.
