Original recipe makes 8
1 cupyellow onions; minced
1 tablespoonOlive oil
1 teaspoonGarlic; minced
28 ouncescanned tomatoes; diced - Muir Glen (28 oz.)
1 1/2 cupsTomato juice
2 tablespoonsSugar
1 teaspoonBlack pepper
Salt to taste
2 cupsHalf and half
1 teaspoondried dill
Fresh Cilantro; chopped

Donna Menolascino's Tomato Soup Preparation

Saute onion in oil, adding garlic near end. Add next 5 ingredients and simmer 30 min. Let cool slightly. Blend with immersion blender. Add half 'n half, dill and cilantro. Heat, but do not boil.

* Can make ahead and freeze BEFORE adding half and half, dill and cilantro.
