12 ounceslean ground beef
1 cuponion; chopped
1/2 cupgreen sweet pepper; chopped
2 clovesGarlic; minced
1 15-oz candark red kidney beans; rinsed and drained
1 14.5-oz candiced tomatoes; undrained
1 8-oz cantomato sauce
3 teaspoonschili powder
1/2 teaspoondried basil; crushed

Chili Preparation

1. In a large saucepan cook ground beef, onion, sweet pepper, and garlic until meat is brown and onion is tender; drain fat. Stir in kidney beans, undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, basil, and ΒΌ teaspoon black pepper. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
