Ingredients

Are you making this? 
1 1/2 lbs brussels sprouts; (halved)
4 slices of Bacon
1 cup Chicken Broth
1 Shallot; (Small Dice)
1 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 clove of Garlic
Salt and Pepper; (To Taste)

Servings  

Preparation

Heat EVOO in a large pan on Medium heat. Add Bacon and cook until almost crispy.

Add Shallot than garlic until shallot is translucent.

Add brussels sprouts and saute for 2 minutes.

Add Chicken Broth and boil than reduce heat to med/low and cover.

Cook 10 minutes or until tender.

Use a slotted spoon when serving.

** You can also cook bacon until crispy and remove to use as a topping if you like.

I've made this several times and it has become my preferred method when I have fresh sprouts. I've used onion when I don't have shallots on hand. Delicious!

I was running out of time so I 1/4'd the Brussels Sprouts and made this recipe without using the chicken broth. Really nice. Looking forward to making it again.

This recipe turned my brussel sprout hating husband into a fan! I also felt there was no need to use olive oil when I had perfectly good bacon grease to use. I love the pine nut suggestion and will try it out next time I make it.

What a wonderful way to eat Brussels Sprouts. All 3 kids ate everything with no complaints. Will try it with pine nuts as suggested by another reviewer next time. Highly recommended!
