Fun recipe for a small group of folks who are gathering.
Rub earthenware or enamelware dish with garlic
Add cheese and wine
Melt over medicum high heat, stirring all the time
Mix cornstarch with Kirsh. Dissolve well.
Stir kirsh mixture into the cheese
Serve warm over sterno flame
Secret is to stir and stir while cooking and while eating! Must be hot enough to stay melted but not to burn or scorch.
Dip bread into cheese. Can also include other items for dipping such as vegetables, meats, etc.
We had this wonderful fondue with Marc and Allison on Christmas eve, 2009. Yummy!
