A fabulous dip and chips combo that is fairly easy to make and nicely different from the usual store-bought solution.
Preheat oven to 350°F
Combine all the listed pita ingredients except pita loves in a small bowl. Blend thoroughly. Cover and let sit 1 hour at room temperature.
While the butter mixture is tempering, prepare the Hearts of Palm dip by draining hearts of palm and chopping finely. Reserve one tablespoon each, Parmesan and green onion. Mix hearts of palm thoroughly with remaining dip ingredients. Spread mixture into a shallow baking dish and sprinkle reserved Parmesan and green onion evenly over the top. Bake 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Run quickly under the broiler to brown top and reset the temperature to 450°F to bake pita triangle chips (keep warm till serving or reheat as required).
Cut pita rounds in half and cut each half into thirds. Separate each pita segment into 2 pieces by splitting the bread. Spread evenly with butter mixture (easiest to do with your fingers). Arrange triangle 'chips' on two baking sheets in a single layer. Bake until lightly browned and crisp, approximately 5 minutes. Keep watch they can flash over to burnt very quickly at this high temperature. Serve warm.
