A take off on Aunt Joyces
Cook for 1 1/2 hr at 425?
Melt cheese and butter in Microwave on low power...then add all other ingredients (EXCEPT Potatoes, reserved butter and Durkee Onions for topping) and stir in. Cover Potatoes with melted mix, fold in. Cover with foil, poked holes for some moisture release and cook for approximately 90 minutes at 425?or until potatoes are thoroughly heated, stirring/folding at half-way point and end point. Then uncover and cook until liquid is absorbed and top is lighly browned and crisp, about 5 minutes on Broil, then add onion topping and retained butter to top and broil til brown and crisp. If need be take out extra liquid prior to last step with Turkey baster (shouldn't need to).
