Combine all ingredients except milk and sweetener in a small saucepan.
Bring to a boil, and reduce heat to a simmer.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Stir in sweetener and milk.
Pour into mug through a fine strainer.
A spicy cup of chai warms you down to your bones.

Cloves may be added if desired. Reduce amount of water if stronger chai is desired. Cinnamon stick may be reused. [I posted this recipe.]
