In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, sugar, vanilla
and eggs; cream at high speed with an electric mixer
until light and fluffy. Blend in the sour cream. In a
separate bowl sift together the flour, baking soda,
salt and baking powder. Gradually stir sifted dry
ingredients into creamed mixture. Spoon
about 1/2 of the batter each of two greased 9 inch round
pans. Bake in a 350° oven for 1 hour. Cool cake completely
before removing from pan

cecils02 3 years agoFrosting almost takes this moist cake over the top, but pair it with a hot cup of coffee and it works well. My family prefers powdered sugar. [I posted this recipe.]
