Basic Quiche

This super comforting dish is very adaptable! This variation is my familes favorite!

Original recipe makes 6
6 ouncescheddar cheese; grated
5 ouncesbacon; about 10 slices, crumbled
10 grape tomatoes; sliced fine
5 ouncesgreen onions; chopped fine
3 Eggs; beaten
1 cupheavy cream
1/2 cup2% milk
1/4 teaspoonSalt
1/2 teaspoongarlic pepper
1/4 teaspoonmustard powder
Crust:
20 sheetsphyllo
1/4 cupbutter; melted

Basic Quiche Preparation

Set aside prepared vegetables, cheese and bacon. Ingredients for crust will be assembled once filling is prepared. Mix together all other ingredients beating well. Layer phyllo sheets in pie pan, brushing each layer with melted butter. Add bacon, cheese and veggies, then pour egg mixture over all. Bake for 55 minutes in a 375 degree oven. Should be firm and browned lightly. Cool for 10 minutes, then cut into 6 slices.
