Original recipe makes 8 Servings
3 cupsbread flour; up to 2 more tablespoons if needed during kneading cycle
3 tablespoonsSugar
1.5 teaspoonsSalt
1 cupginger ale; warm
1/3 cupwater; plus up to 2 more tablespoons if needed during kneading cycle
2 tablespoonsVegetable Oil
2 1/4 teaspoonsActive dry yeast

Ginger Ale Bread Preparation

Place all ingredients in bread machine in order suggested by manufacturer. Use basic bread setting. Check dough after five minutes of mixing; add one to 2 tbsp. of water or flour if needed.

This is a light-flavored, delicious bread, best enjoyed warm.

I have never needed to add flour, but I often need to add water. With my machine, I can tell this because the kneading blade will squeak and sound labored. If I don't add water when this is happening, the crust comes out too hard. I live in a dry climate at almost 5000 feet elevation; results may be different in other locales. [I posted this recipe.]
