Original recipe makes 6
2 1/2 poundChicken; pieces
1 mediumOnion; diced
1/2 teaspoonDried sage
1 Bay leaf
1 cupCelery; diced
1 cupCarrot; sliced
1 cupMushroom; sliced
1 Chicken bouillon
2 cupBisquick
2/3 cupMilk

Chicken & Dumplings Preparation

In large pot, combine chicken, sage, bay leaf, 3/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, chicken bouillon, celery, carrots & 3 cups water.

Bring to boil; reduce heat. Simmer, covered , about 20 minutes.

Add mushrooms and bring to a boil.

Meanwhile, prepare dumplings:

Mix Bisquick & milk until soft dough forms.

Drop dumplings mix, by spoonful, into boiling stew.

Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 10 minutes.

Cover and simmer for another 10 minutes.
