A Carbohydate, gluten free Pizza
Begin by corsely chopping the cauliflower.
Steam lightly for 8 mins.
Place cauliflower on a baking tray and spread out evenly, bake at 375? for 5-7 minutes just to remove a little excess moisture.
Use a food mill, or light pulses on a food processor to get a minced/ grainy texture.
Add spices and salt
Add Egg and cheese
Mix thoroughly...
Spread oil evenly on a baking try with parchment paper
Place one or two handfuls of cauliflower mixture on baking tray, pat down to a rough 1/2 inch thick (or slightly thinner) Circle.
Bake at 400? for 12-18 minutes, edges should start to darken and centre should be soft but not raw.
remove from oven, let cool 10 mins, check "dough" to see if you can life an edge and it comes off the tray resonably well.
Place a little tomato sauce, cheese, and favorite toppings, rebake at 400? for 5-7 mins, let cool slightly, cut and enjoy!
***This is NOT a traditional pizza, the base may be delicate, but the nutritional benefit out weighs any cons.... bon Appetit!
A great way to get kids to eat cauliflower, a great conversation piece and great for persons on a carbohydate or gluten sensitive diet
