Fancy Southern Nut Bars

|2 1/2 cupsAll purpose flour|

|1 cupPecans; coarsely chopped|
|1 canSalted cashews; coarsely chopped (10 ounces)|
|3/4 cupButter; or margarine|
|1 cupBrown sugar; packed|
|1/4 cupWhipping cream|
Fancy Southern Nut Bars Preparation
Heat oven to 350?. For crust, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy in bowl. Blend in egg and salt. Gradually blend in flour until mixture holds together. Pat dough over bottom and halfway up sides of bar pan. Roll crust evenly. Bake 20 minutes. Meanwhile, for filling, coarsely chop nuts and zest lemon. Set aside.
Heat butter and honey in small saucepan over medium-high heat until butter is melted, stirring occasionally. Add sugars, stirring until dissolved. Remove from heat.
Immediately stir in cream. Add nuts and zest. Stir until nuts are coated. Cool 5 minutes. Spread filling evenly over hot crust. Bake 10 - 13 minutes or until center of filling just begins to bubble. Cool completely. Cut into bars. Store in a tightly covered container in a cool place.
