Mash the potatoes in a large bowl. While still warm, fold in the sugar, milk, beaten eggs, vanilla, and 1/2 the butter. Stir with a wooden spoon until combined. Add marshmellows and pour the mixture into a casserole dish.
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour and the rest of the butter. Add the pecans. Spoon this topping evenly over the potatoes.
Bake 350F for 30-45 minutes.
