Great Chocolate-oatmeal Chunk Cookies

This cookie is a family favorite of ours. The variety of chocolate, oats and nuts is a wonderful combination.

Original recipe makes 5 Dozen
1 cupUnsalted butter; softened
1 cupLight brown sugar; firmly packed
1/2 cupGranulated sugar
2 largeEggs
2 teaspoonVanilla extract
2 cupsAll purpose flour
3/4 teaspoonBaking soda
1 teaspoonSalt
3 cupsUncooked regular oats
11 1/2 ounceSemisweet chocolate chunks
1 cupPecans; chopped

Great Chocolate-oatmeal Chunk Cookies Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 deg F.

Beat butter and sugars at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; add to butter mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats, chocolate chunks and pecans. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake at 350 deg F for 9 minutes or until golden. Cool slightly on baking sheets; transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
