Chocolate Caramel Bars
Chocolate Caramel Bars Preparation
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup of evaporated milk and set aside.
Mix 1/3 cup evaporated milk with the melted butter and dry cake mix to make a batter.
Put 2/3 of this batter in an ungreased 9" x 13" pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips (and nuts if desired).
Cover the chips with the caramel mixture.
Add the rest of the batter (in small pieces) on top of the caramel mixture. (This will not cover all the caramel, but will spread during baking.)
Bake 15-20 minutes more.
Cool 30 minutes before cutting and enjoying.
