Heat oven to 350F. Beat shortening, sugars, egg, orange juice, and vanilla until creamy. Add combined dry ingredients and mix well (adding walnuts last). Use medium cookie scoop to drop dough onto ungreased cookie sheet(s). Bake 10-13 minutes. Cool on rack.
