This is an easy and fun way to make homemade mozzarella sticks at home. The egg roll wraps help keep everything together and helps you avoid that stick gooey mess that happens when the cheese seeps out during frying. They are amazing!
Cut each of the string cheeses in half. Beat the eggs and milk together in a shallow bowl. Lay 1 egg wrapper out on a flat surface. Brush the edges with the egg mixture, be sure to not brush on the middle of the wrapper. Place a piece of the salami and 1 piece of the cheese on the wrapper. Roll the cheese and salami up in the wrapper (wrap like you would a burrito). Dip the wrapped mozzarella stick into the egg mixture (be sure to completely submerge the cheese stick into the egg mixture). Mix the Panko with the salt and pepper in a separate bowl. Dredge the cheese stick through the bread crumbs. It is very important to completely cover the cheese stick in the bread crumbs. Sometimes it may be necessary to slightly push the bread crumbs onto the cheese stick surface. Repeat this process for all of the cheese sticks. Then deep fry in the vegetable oil at 350 degrees for about 4-5 minutes, or until they turn a nice golden brown.
