Vern's Chocolate Pie Preparation

In this recipe it is best if you do one step at a time.

1. Prepare Pie crust: per Instructions on package

2. Filling

In a sauce pan add Vanilla, egg yolks, milk, "whisk until mixed well"

Then add butter and heat until butter is melted. then add dry ingredients "Flour, Cocoa, Sugar" Cook on Med High while whisking until mixture gets very thick.

Remove from Heat and pour into Prepared pie crust.

3. PREPARE TOPPING:

Beat egg whites until thickened, add 2 Teaspoons Sugar per egg white.

Spoon onto top of pie, try to make little peaks with the egg whites.

Bake in oven at 450 Temp, just until light brown... watch it carefully, it doesn''t take long to get browned.

Eat and enjoy. Compliments of my late mother.
