Try leaving out the potatoes and serving over rice.
Cook ground beef in a large frying pan until no longer pink. Add the onion, red ell pepper and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until starting to softer, about 3 minutes. Stir in the beer, tomatoes, tomato paste, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper and Tabasco sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for 15 minutes. Add the raisins, olives and potatoes. Cook covered until the potatoes are just done, about 10 minutes.
